Hot Date for Lunar Flare

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday November 1

Outstanding staying mare Lunar Flare might not have the first Tuesday in November at Flemington after her retirement due to injury following her fourth place in the Group II Moonee Valley Gold Cup, but a Tweet from her trainer Grahame Begg would indicate she’s on her way to something more exciting.

The $2million earning mare is set to visit So You Think and a Hypo mating to the sire of Everest winner Think About It looks like this.

It’s almost the reverse mating of last week’s Group II MVRC AAMI Vase winner Apulia, who is by Fiorente (IRE) from a daughter of So You Think’s sire High Chaparral. Bred to stay all day, he runs in the Victoria Derby this Saturday.
