New Stakes-Winner for Australian Bloodstock

The Australian Bloodstock colours had success in two hemispheres on Monday with Written By filly Solutionist a ‘One to Watch’ at Newcastle, while in France overnight progressive staying filly Understated won the Listed Prix Solitude (2000m) at Saint-Cloud.

Trained by Ralph Beckett, the Nathaniel filly had been racing well earlier this year with a win at Windsor and a stakes-placing at Goodwood. She delivered a career best to forge clear and win this Black Type contest by three-quarters of a length and has two wins and two placings from seven starts.

ht for €67,000 at the BBAG September Yearling Sale, Understated is the best of two winners from Catalyst, a half-sister by Makfi to the dam of multiple Group I winner Postponed and also Group I winner God Given, who is by Understated’s sire Nathaniel.

 

Understated is the 34th stakes-winner for Galileo stallion Nathaniel, best known as the sire of European Horse of the Year Enable.

She has been entered for the Tattersalls December Mares Sale as Lot 1670 and is now a stakes-winning three-quarter sister-in-blood to G1 winner God Given.  

Australian Bloodstock were prolific buyers at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale last week and have had huge success with their European tried horse imports including Gold Trip (Fr), who will bid for his second Melbourne Cup next Tuesday.  Read about some of their purchases here.
