Next Generation of Inglis Stars Get Ready to Shine

Media Release - Thursday October 26

Graduates from each of Inglis' three major select yearling sales will be represented in Saturday's $250,000 Restricted Listed Inglis Banner (1000m) at The Valley.

In the final field of 11, six runners are from the Classic Yearling Sale, four have come through the Premier Yearling Sale and one - $800,000 Snitzel colt Jawwaal – is out of the Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Setsuna as a yearlingThe TAB has installed the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trainedSetsuna (Choisir x Longoria)as a $4 favourite for the Inglis Banner.

The filly is one of three runners to have already raced, finishing a close-up second in the Listed Gimcrack Stakes at Randwick on debut a fortnight ago.

Part-owner Scott Darby, of Darby Racing, is confident Setsuna will again put in a strong performance on Saturday.

"She's travelled down to Melbourne really well,'' Darby said.

"We were really happy with her first run. She was only beaten a head that day and she's trained on well since so we're confident she's going to be right around the mark again this weekend.''

The Inglis Banner is the first race of the lucrative $6million Inglis Race Series for 2017 graduates.

The final schedule for these horses will be announced next week.

The winning trainer will receive a set of Swarovski Optik binoculars.

The Inglis Banner is race 1 at The Valley on Saturday, scheduled to start at 12.10pm
