First Season Sire Runners on Saturday

The Listed VRC Maribyrnong Trial is run at Flemington this afternoon and features runners by Blue Point (IRE), Exceedance and I Am Immortal, while juvenile races at Eagle Farm, Murray Bridge and Hawera ion New Zealand all feature runners by first season sires.

Blue Point (IRE) is looking to get on the board with his first Australian winner.

Darley shuttler Blue Point has sired 39 first crop winners in Europe and had his first Group I winner in France last Sunday when Rosallion won the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp on the Arc program.

He has two runners at Flemington with Godolphin to send out Blue Illusion and Ciaron Maher and David Eustace will saddle Centre Square, a $100,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Stonehouse Thoroughbreds draft.

Interesting runner for Exceedance in the Tony and Calvin McEvoy trained Dublin Down, a $370,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Edinburgh Park draft making him the most expensive yearling by his sire sold at the Gold Coast.
