Tara Madgwick - Monday September 11

It only seems fitting that a horse carrying the Aquis stud brand should be selected to represent them in the $20million Everest on October 14.

Annabel Neasham has today announced Sunshine in Paris will be her first runner in The Everest, confirming Aquis had successfully negotiated a deal with the four year-olds mare’s owner John Camilleri, who bought her for $3.9million earlier this year at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on the advice of James Harron.

A Group I winner of the ATC Surround Stakes last season at three defeating Group I winners Ruthless Dame, In Secret and Zougotcha, Sunshine in Paris was ultra impressive when resuming from a spell to win the Group II ATC Sheraco Stakes last Saturday.

“Sunshine In Paris has pulled up really well after Saturday's win," Neasham told Ray Thomas.

"Our plan now is to keep the mare fresh and happy and she will go straight into the Everest without another start.

"I fear if I ran her again before the Everest it could take the speed out of her legs.

"We also have the Golden Eagle for her after the Everest."

Sunshine in Paris was sold first for $90,000 as an unraced 2YO and then for $3.9million as a G1 winner!

Sunshine in Paris was bred by Aquis and sired by their young Snitzel stallion Invader, who stands at their Queensland farm at a fee of $11,000. She was sold as an unraced two year-old filly for $90,000 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale to Champagne Bloodstock and won her first start as a spring three year-old at Canberra on November 3 last year.

Four starts later she won the Group I Surround and now with just six starts under her belt Sunshine in Paris will go to the  richest sprint in the world with a live chance!
