Miss Fabulass Tops $15.4million MM Strawberry Hill Dispersal

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday August 29

Group winning mare Miss Fabulass topped today's Strawberry Hill Stud Unreserved Dispersal Sale when selling at the on farm auction for $1.85 million.

Miss Fabulass sold for $1.85million and will be headed to Yulong in Victoria.

Presented as Lot 46, the beautiful daughter of Frankel was knocked down to the online bid of Victoria's Yulong bidding under the Highway Farm banner.

Miss Fabulass, who won a Group Two Tea Rose Stakes and was runner-up in a Group One Coolmore Classic, missed last spring to I Am Invincible.

The young Frankel mare has produced two foals to date and the second, a just-turned yearling by I Am Invincible was the top seller of his age earlier today when selling for $950,000 to the Kia Ora Stud and TFI partnership.

$950,000 I Am Invincible yearling colt from Miss Fabulass.

Miss Fabulass, who earned almost $440,000 on the track, is from the triple Group One winner Samantha Miss, who herself sold later in the afternoon for $320,000.

The following lot offered this afternoon, the Group Two Moonee Valley Fillies Classic winner Mokulua, was the other seven figure seller on the day, purchased for $1.6 million.

Again it was Highway Farm who struck - securing the Redoute's Choice mare who is due to produce her first foal, by Frankel, in the coming days.

Mokulua is from the Victorian Oaks winner Dear Demi - who was also purchased by Highway Farm for $700,000 earlier in the afternoon.

Highway Farm went to $750,000 to secure the sale's penultimate offering, the More Than Ready mare Too Much Lippy.

A half sister to Group One winner Levendi and fellow group winners Wu Gok and Marcel from Madrid, Too Much Lippy will this spring produce her first foal by Juddmonte's champion sire Frankel.

Former racetrack stars Karuta Queen ($600,000), More Joyous ($450,000) and Samantha Miss ($320,000) were also sold later in the afternoon - all of them going to Yulong buying at this sale as Highway Farm.

$525,000 2YO Pierro filly from Dear Demi.

The top priced two-year-old of the dispersal was the Pierro filly from Oaks heroine Dear Demi who sold for $525,000 to Victoria's Glentree Racing. She's a half sister to Mokulua.

The unreserved auction grossed $15.497 million for 55 lots sold at an average price of $281,763 with Highway Farm aka Yulong purchasing 15 lots for $8.9million.

"There was a great vibe here today," Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said. "All in all to trade over $15 million worth of horses in just over two hours is a great result for Magic Millions and for Strawberry Hill."

"I think we ended up with 33 individual buyers for the 55 horses on offer. It was great to engage with such a huge cross section of our industry."

"Huge congratulations to our team and also the Strawberry Hill team for pulling together such a unique event."

"It's been a long time since there's been an on farm sale and to have such a good number of people here to enjoy the day was fantastic."
