Darley Stud’s Too Darn Hot (GB) celebrated his second Group III winner at Goodwood overnight when the Kark Burke-trained Darnation (IRE) justified her favouritism in the Prestige Fillies’ Stakes (7f).
Ridden by Sam James, Darnation (IRE) hit the line strongly to defeat the Starspangledbanner filly Carla’s Way by two lengths with the The King’s Dubawi filly Hard To Resist a head back in third.
After finishing third at her career debut at Haydock on July 7, Darnation (IRE) spanked her rivals by upwards of ten lengths over 7-furlongs three weeks later at Thirsk.
"I rang Karl and told him they'd had a lot of rain and he was pleased as she won at Thirsk last time by ten lengths on soft ground," James told Racing Post
"I've had a few Group winners, but it's still nice to have another, especially here as I've only ever had a handful of rides at Goodwood."
