First Foal for Golden Slipper Winner Stay Inside

Tara Madgwick - Monday July 31

It’s an exciting spring for Newgate Farm with Extreme Choice’s Champion 2YO Colt Stay Inside producing his first offspring and the very first has arrived, a cracking bay colt who is an almost identical mould to his Golden Slipper winning sire.

First born for Stay Inside, a colt from Excessivespending (USA).

The colt is the second foal and first born in Australia for stakes-winning North American sprinting mare Excessivespending (USA), who was purchased by bloodstock agent George Moore at this year’s Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $470,000.

“An absolute belter and a stamp of his sire,” said Newgate’s Bruce Slade who inspected the foal today.

“To have Stay Inside’s first foal as good as this is beyond exciting.”

Stay Inside covered an exceptional book of mares at Newgate in his first season and it was no surprise to see his in-foal mares average $411,364 at this year’s Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

If his first foal is any indicator, Stay Inside is a young sire poised to make a big impact as the finest son of outstanding sire Extreme Choice.

Stay Inside

Stay Inside covered 189 mares last spring and remains at a fee of $77,000.
