Godolphin unleashed a blueblood two year-old filly overnight in the UK with the three-quarter sister to Champion 2YO Pinatubo making a winning debut at Ascot at the expense of yet another speedy juvenile by their exciting young sire Blue Point.
Trained by Charlie Appleby and ridden by William Buick, Lope de Vega filly Panarea was a short priced favourite for the 6f fillies dash and was made to work to get past Rawaasi, who has now placed at both of her starts and looms as a certain future winner for Blue Point, who has 21 on the board already!
Panarea is the fifth winner from five to race from stakes-winning Dalakhani mare Lava Flow, the dam of triple Group I winner Pinatubo and stakes-winner Sundoro.
Panarea claims blue hen Eljazzi as her fourth dam, the family producing champion sires Invincible Spirit and Kodiac as well as numerous Group I winners including Australian bred Pride of Dubai, while current season Australian stakes-winners Shuffle Dancer, Zoukerette and Zoukerino are also on the page.
Pinatubo (IRE) has his first Australian foals arriving this spring in Australia and he returns to Darley NSW at a fee of $55,000.
