Greg Polson Preview and top two bets for Kembla

Greg Polson - Thursday October 19

The addition of blinkers to a John Thompson-trained four-year-old and a filly from the Mark Newnham stable, all the better for her debut, standout as the best bets at Kembla on Thursday.

Greg Polson is keen on two at Kembla today.

SWEET VICTORY (Race 1 No 6)

Trained at Randwick by Mark Newnham, Sweet Missile was responsible for an excellent debut hitting the line strongly when a close second to Tiny Taj at Gosford on October 5 with a significant gap to the third placegetter.

With the benefit of race experience stepping up to 1400m and Glyn Schofield in the saddle, Sweet Victory looks set to go one better in the Tasman Sea 3YO Maiden Handicap (1400m).

FANTASTIC MAN (Race 2 No 1)

The John Thompson-trained Fantastic Man is the winner of just one race but has finished second on four occasions from eight career starts and has always looked like a horse that would benefit from a set of blinkers which he gets in the Mullet Creek Mile Class 1 Handicap (1600m).

After a promising return to racing at Kembla on September 17 when third to Virgilio and last week's Randwick winner Torvill, Fantastic Man couldn't match the impressive Speedway at Newcastle second-up stepping up to 1600m but still battled on well to finish second.

With the run over the trip under his belt, Fantastic Man is ready to win third-up and the blinkers are expected to turn the four-year-old from a consistent placegetter to a winner.
