Stakes-placed
three times last season at three, progressive Sebring four year-old Violate
struck top form to win at Caulfield on Wednesday.
A $70,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Cloud 9 Thoroughbreds from the draft of
Turangga Farm, the Brent Stanley trained Violate surged clear to win by a length
and a half over 2000 metres.
It was his second win from 19 starts, but with seven minor placings Violate has
won over $220,000 in prizemoney and could be well placed in stakes company over
the remainder of the carnival.
Bred and offered for sale by Turangga Farm, Violate is the second winner from
Shantha's Girl, an unraced Redoute's Choice daughter of Group I VRC Emirates
Stakes winner Sky Cuddle.
Shantha's Girl has a two year-old filly by Star Witness that was sold by Turangga
Farm at Inglis Easter this year for $80,000 to Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott
and has another yearling filly by the same sire to follow.
Shantha's Girl was sold for $155,000 at the Turangga Farm Dispersal to Ollie
Tait's Twin Hills and recently produced a filly by Nicconi for her new owners.
