Successful Finale to Quality NZB Breeze Ups

Day 2 saw another 194 two-year-olds gallop down the straight at Te Rapa Racecourse and the conclusion of the 2017 Breeze Ups for NZB's Ready to Run Sale of 2YO's.

The youngsters breezed up on a Dead 5 track today with West Southwester gusting winds similar to those conditions of yesterday's Dead 6 track.

Ohaupo-based Riversley Park presented two smart gallopers today, a colt by I Am Invincible (Lot 222) who recorded a time of 10.84 seconds and a colt by Lonhro (Lot 273) who breezed in a time of 10.86 seconds.

The fastest performers of the day, and overall, came from a pair of colts prepared by Riverrock Farm.Lot 239 by Rip Van Winkle clocked the fastest time at 9.94 seconds withLot 243by Poet's Voice performing in a close time of 9.95 seconds.

Kilmore Farm were back in the action today with their duo of fillies.Lot 186by Reliable Man, a full sister to Main Stage and current favourite for the Group 1 A$1.5 million Victoria Derby, clocked a time of 10.82 seconds whileLot 377by Myboycharlie breezed in a time of 10.85 seconds.

The full brother to quality Australian filly Formality will be offeredThe full brother of recent Group 2 winner Formality (Fastnet Rock) (Lot 174), who is out of Singapore Horse of the Year Jolie's Shinju, recorded a respectable time of 10.43 in a dead heat with the colt by He's Remarkable (Lot 262) with both prepared by Curraghmore.

NZB's bloodstock sales manager Danny Rolston was pleased with the outcome across the two-days of Breeze Ups.

"Full credit goes to the vendors and jockeys for presenting and breezing these horses up to such a high standard.

"With slightly better conditions today we saw faster times but the overall quality of horses has been outstanding.

"At the conclusion of the last two days I am convinced that we have assembled the best book on type to date."
