Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday June 20

Barrier trials in Sydney were at Rosehill on Tuesday with five heats won by juveniles including the newly gelded half-brother to a Group I winner and a couple of unraced yougnsters by Deep Field.

Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Coincide has shown good ability with two placings behind quality colts Barber and Don Corleone before an inglorious last in the Inglis Millennium after which he was gelded. The half-brother by Invader to dual Group I winner Converge was having his first trial as a gelding and did everything right to lead and win by half a length.

Trained by Bjorn Baker, Deep Field colt Luna Field has had four trials now for three wins so looks ready to go racing and keep an eye on the grey filly surging home for fifth. That’s I Am Famous, the $2million half-sister by I Am Invincible to Classique Legend and this was her second trial this prep and we’re liking what we see.

Having his second trial, the Time Martin trained Deep Field gelding Draco was asked to find the line and did so in good style to win by two lengths in the quickest time for the juvenile heats.

Looks an obvious horse for Hong Kong and is from stakes-winning Show a Heart mare Discreet, who has had four foals to race all winners and am tipping he’ll be number five.

Additional winners were: Watchguard (Toronado (IRE) and Rockabilly Rebel (Street Boss(USA).
