Justify 2YO Wins by Eight!

Triple Crown hero Justify (USA) added a sixth Australian winner to his tally at Cranbourne on Friday night when promising filly Clavadatsch made a procession out of the 1300m juvenile maiden.

Prepared by Anthony and Sam Freedman, Clavadatsch was a short priced favourite and raced right away to win by eight lengths eased down.

ined to race by Coolmore and partners, Clavadatsch is the first foal of Group III placed Fastnet Rock mare Art Collection, a sibling to Australian Horse of the Year and five time Group I winning sprinter Lankan Rupee and to the dams of Group winner Count de Rupee and stakes-winner Manhattan Street.

Art Collection has a yearling colt by Pierro and was covered by Home Affairs last spring.

Clavadatsch adds to the success of Justify, who will be Australia’s Champion First Season Sire with six winners from 12 runners, three of them stakes-winners Learning to Fly, Air Assault and Legacies.

Justify is an outcross sire by Scat Daddy that is completely free of Danehill blood and all six of his Australian winners are from mares carrying the Danehill blood.

Justify returns to Australia this spring at a fee of $77,000.
