Tara Madgwick - Monday May 22

An impressive race record and pedigree can take you so far, but the ability to produce a type is what most commercial breeders are looking for in a broodmare at this sale, so we’ve put together lists of the mares that have had yearlings or weanlings sell particularly well this year.

Sheiswhatsheis

Topping the list is the Milburn Creek consigned Bernardini (USA) stakes-winner Sheiswhatsheis, whose Zoustar yearling colt made $725,000 at Magic Millions this year when bought by Curran Bloodstock. She also has a two year-old filly (Zouella) by Zoustar that was retained and is in work with Chris Waller.

Amalgamate

Also interesting the Mill Park consigned Amalgamate, whose So You Think yearling colt made $650,000 at Magic Millions this year when bought by Legend Racing Pty Ltd/Avenue Bloodstock making him the most expensive yearling by his sire at that sale.
