Dual Group One winning mare Roch ‘N’ Horse has been retired, with owners Sam and Catriona Williams announcing who will be her initial mating.
Bred by the Williams’s Little Avondale Stud, the daughter of their resident sire Per Incanto had originally been offered for sale at NZB Karaka Book 2 but was passed in on a reserve of $40,000.
She was subsequently retained to race with partners who placed her in the care of Mike Moroney who oversaw her winning over $3million, highlighted by Group One wins in the Darley Classic and Newmarket Handicap, both down the famed Flemington straight.
Roch ‘N’ Horse will now be a part of what promises to be a red-hot book of mares heading to Rich Hill Stud’s Proisir.
Proisir is the “man of the moment” in NZ, having sired five Group One winners in the current season and a recent share changed hands at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale to Godolphin for $400,000.
