Twin Hills Stud will present half a dozen mares at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale on Thursday night including two in foal to champion sires Frankel and Zoustar, plus the only mare in the sale with a cover to red hot young sire Blue Point (IRE).

Darley shuttler Blue Point had 48 yearlings sell in Australia this year at an average in excess of $214,000 and in Europe where his first progeny are two year-olds, he has sired five winners from 13 runners!

Expectation is high as to what he can do in Australia which makes Lot 76, Treasure Island a most interesting mare offered on behalf of Ken King Thoroughbreds.

Treasure Island

From a proven Black Type family, Treasure Island hit a home run with her first foal Bon’s a Pearler winning the Group II MRC Thousand Guineas and placing in the Group I VRC Australian Guineas, while her second foal Bahama Bay is a lightly raced 3YO that defeated Benedetta when breaking his maiden at Moe. She produced a colt by Blue Point (IRE) last spring.

Juddmonte Farms are one of the greatest thoroughbred nurseries of the world and Lot 44 Of Good Cheer  (GB) is offered on their behalf and is in foal to Frankel in her first season at stud.

Of Good Cheer (GB)

A winning Dark Angel mare, Of Good Cheer is a grand-daughter of Group I winner Heat Haze, the dam of imported stayer Mirage Dancer, who won the Group I ATC Metropolitan along with multiple Group and stakes wins in the UK.

Third dam Hasili is a legendary matriarch making this mare a collector’s item for either hemisphere with her early September service to Frankel, who has worked with this family to produce Mirage Dancer.

Lot 22 is imported Fastnet Rock mare Ilphare (IRE), an unraced full sister to Group I winner Rivet, Group III winner Out and About and three-quarter sister to Group III winner Alexander Pope. It’s a top class G1 family and she is closely related to Fastnet Rock’s triple Group I winning mare One Master.

Ilphare (IRE)

She comes from a family that has been nurtured by William Haggas and has another four year-old full sister Amanzoe, that will be heading into stakes races this year. She is offered in foal to Zoustar in her second season, replicating a cross that has produced G1 winner Zougotcha and outstanding Group winning juvenile Platinum Jubilee.

Lot 33 is Melba Storm, another quality mare from Ken King Thoroughbreds.

Melba Storm

A stakes-placed daughter of outstanding European sire Night of Thunder, Melba Storm comes from the family of Golden Slipper winner Catbird and is being sold off the track as a breeding proposition.

Lot 63 is Spring Colours (GB), a proven stakes producer by an outstanding sire in Shamardal from the family of European Horse of the Year Goldikova.

Spring Colours (GB)

She is the dam of three foals to race all winners headed by stakes-winner See You in Spring and is offered in foal to exciting Group I winning Snitzel stallion Wild Ruler after producing a colt by The Autumn sun last spring.

Lot 104 is Scorched Earth, a fast and precocious stakes-winning filly by Nicconi that won four races and nearly $500,000 with multiple Group placings.

Scorched

Offered off the track as a breeding proposition, she comes from an outstanding female family tracing to blue hen Summoned from the Pampas Fire branch that produced multiple Group I winner Melito.
