New Stakes-Winner for Star Witness

The $125,000 Listed WATC Sheila Gwynne Classic (1400m) at Ascot in Perth in Saturday produced a new stakes-winner for Widden Stud’s stalwart sire Star Witness with Stellar Vista claiming the prize.

The Simon Miller trained five year-old was rewarded for consistency when  doing best in a thrilling finish to take a head win right on the line.

 

An $80,000 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale purchase for her trainer from the Misty Valley Thoroughbreds draft, Stellar Vista has the overall record of six wins and eight placings from 20 starts with prizemoney topping $239,000.

Stellar Vista  is the best of three winners from metro winning Anabaa (USA) mare Vantage Point, who traces back to blue hen Lady Giselle, the dam of champion sire Zabeel and Group I winning sire Baryshnikov.

Stellar Vista is the 23rd stakes-winner for Star Witness, who stands at Widden Victoria at a fee of $11,000.
