Perth Group I nominations close Monday

Darryl Sherer - Sunday October 15

Nominations for the second edition of The Masters at Ascot in Perth close on Monday.

A charter flight from Melbourne has been booked.

Connections have until midday Australian Western standard time on October 16 to nominate for the Group I Railway Stakes, the Group I Winterbottom Stakes, the Group I Kingston Town Classic and the Group II WA Guineas.

Horse transport to the west has traditionally been an issue for trainers however, Mark Worwood, racing and wagering manager of Perth Racing, said in a statement a charter flight from Melbourne has been booked.

"The charter flight from Melbourne to Perth is booked for Sunday 19 November, six days before The TABTouch Masters starts," Worwood said.

"With the James Boag's Premium Railway Stakes and the Sky Racing WA Guineas the Equine All Stars Incentive Scheme alleviates the up-front costs associated with getting to and from Ascot racecourse from outside Western Australia."

Nominations and acceptances for all race meetings in Western Australia must be lodged with the Racing and Wagering Western Australia Trainers Service Centre.
