Written Tycoon's Super Cash Wins Schillaci Stakes

Mark Smith - Sunday October 15

After failing to gain a start in the Group I Moir Stakes, the Written Tycoon mare Super Cash was switched to Saturday's Keno Kwikpik Schillaci Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield and came up trumps.

Ridden by Katelyn Mallyon, Super Cash scored by a short-head over Illustrious Lad (I Am Invincible) on Saturday with Rock Magic (Redoute's Choice) a half-neck away in third.  (photo Grant Courtney)

"She was flying heading into the Moir but she missed that run so we had to balance it right by not doing too much and not doing enough," winning trainer Andrew Noblet told AAP.

"We just got it right today.

"She goes very well fresh and when the barrier draw came out and she had gate two and the way she was during the week I was pretty confident."

"She feels the ground but the track was perfect today and if she comes through it well we'll make a plan from there," he said.

Mallyon said the 5yo mare is at her best fresh.

"I'm just so lucky to have Andrew Noblet and all the owners so supportive.

"She's a ripping horse, especially first-up. Eleven hundred metres at Caulfield, Nobby placed her perfectly and it's just great getting a win over the Spring Carnival with her.

"Hopefully we can get a deserved Group I with her because I think she's good enough."

Retained to race by her breeders, Super Cash advances her overall record to 5 wins, 1 second and 4 thirds from 17 starts with earnings of $635,050.

She is the best of three winners from Dash for Cash mare Super Bucks, a $40,000 yearling that won three of her 12 starts, and a daughter of stakes-placed import Anemone Garden (IRE).

Super Buck has a 2yo colt by Hussonet (USA) and a yearling filly by Written Tycoon.
