Group I glory turned to shattering disappointment in a few hours for jockey Michael Walker who will miss next Saturday's Caulfield Cup day after being suspended for 10 meetings.
Walker was set to ride Victoria Derby favourite Main Stage in next Saturday's Group III Ladbrokes Classic and also Sir Isaac Newton for Lloyd Williams in the Caulfield Cup.
But Walker was downcast after being hauled before stewards and charged with careless riding for his ride on $100-1 Caulfield Guineas winner Mighty Boss.
Walker pleaded guilty to shifting out at the 500m mark and causing interference to Azazel.
Chief steward Terry Bailey said Walker had a good recent riding record but that was counter-balanced by the fact he had caused interference in a Group I race.
Walker was suspended for 10 meetings and will be free to recommence riding on Geelong Cup day on October 25.
