Savvy Broodmare Purchase Delivers Second Million Dollar Yearling

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday April 4

Southern Highlands based Milburn Creek got in the million dollar groove on Tuesday with a Zoustar filly from Sexy Eyes knocked down to Japanese buyer Katsumi Yoshida for $1million.

Lot 349 sold for $1million, click to see her page.

A stylish dark brown filly, she is the second foal of Group III winning Written Tycoon mare Sexy Eyes, whose first foal, a colt by Zoustar, sold for $1.25million at this sale last year to Tom Magnier.

He has been named Northern Eyes and has had a couple of quiet trials with Chris Waller, but is yet to race and is currently spelling.

Sexy Eyes is looking like a very savvy purchase, plucked from the 2019 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $650,000 from the Blue Sky Premium Consignment by Suman Hedge Bloodstock for Iskander Racing.

Sexy Eyes was bought by Suman Hedge Bloodstock for Iskander Racing.

Her first two foals by Zoustar have both now sold for $1.25 million and $1million with her next foal a filly from the first crop of Golden Slipper winner Farnan.

Sexy Eyes was covered by Snitzel last spring.
