Facile Out and Militarize In

Tara Madgwick - Friday March 17

The Golden Slipper field has had a slight shake up on the eve of the big race with news Trapeze Artist  filly Facile has been vetted out with a lameness issue, while the Chris Waller trained Dundeel colt Militarize has gained a start.

The son of Dundeel was a $550,000 Magic Millions purchase and will be the third colt in the race to run for Newgate/ China Horse Club and partners joining Don Corleone and Empire of Japan.

Militarize was foaled in New Zealand and was bred by Jonathan Munz’s GSA Bloodstock, who had a big result last year as owner breeder of Everest winner Giga Kick.

Pedigree suggests Militarize will ultimately want further than 1200m and from 16 gate, he has no option other than to go back, but you’ve got to be in it to win it and he’s there!
