South Australian based Rathmore Lodge are looking to make a splash at their home town sale with Ross Hatton and Max Schofer and their team presenting 17 yearlings for the Adelaide Magic Millions including the half-brother to this season’s top class juvenile Brave Halo.

Brave Halo won his first three starts in Western Australia before coming across to Melbourne and after a fourth in the Group III MRC Blue Diamond Prelude, ran a terrific race for fourth to Little Brose in the Group I MRC Blue Diamond beaten a length and a half.

His half-brother from the first crop of Bellevue Hill will be offered as Lot 36 and is the fourth foal of Danish Bingo, a daughter of stakes-winner Danedina from the family of Group II winning filly Seradess and current stakes mare Rose Quartz.

Lot 36

“He’s an excellent physical and is a great walking athletic colt,” said Ross Hatton.

“His half-brother Brave Halo is a very talented colt that was fourth from barrier 16 in the Blue Diamond last month.”

Rathmore will also offer two colts by top class Group I sire Toronado (IRE) that will command attention.

Lot 147 is the second foal of Kariya, a winning All Too Hard grand-daughter of Champion European 3YO Filly Islington. Also on the page is G2 winner Berkshire Shadow, who won the Listed Lady Wulfruna Stakes at Wolverhampton in the UK on Saturday. Her first foal Falcon of Malta (3g Fiorente (IRE) has had two starts for two second placings and is held in high regard by the Mike Moroney stable.

“Physically this colt is a stand-out for us and his exciting 3yo half-brother Falcon of Malta holds a Rosehill Guineas nomination and ran 2nd on debut behind Group I performer Queen Air,” Hatton said.

Lot 281 is the second foal of Princess Vein, a winning daughter of Champion 2YO Filly Victory Vein and a three-quarter sister -in-blood to Group III winner Sookie, the dam of dual Group I winner Shadow Hero.

Lot 281

“One of the best walkers in the draft and looks a real spring three year-old type. His half-brother by Russian Revolution made $80k at this sale last year,” Hatton said.
