Godolphin draft and Mare in Foal to Extreme Choice among Digital highlights

Media Release - Friday February 17

An exceptionally rare offering of a mare in foal to freak stallion Extreme Choice highlights a particularly strong catalogue for the Inglis Digital February (Late) Online Sale which also includes a draft of 16 from Godolphin, multiple Stakes performers and three shares in exciting 3YO Benedetta.

Taurasi is in foal to Extreme Choice!

Taurasi, offered in foal to Extreme Choice on the account of Newgate, is a half sister to Stakes winner Untamed, and is out of a half-sister to G1 winner Foxwedge as well as the dam of this season’s exciting 3YO Bank Maur.

“Extreme Choice is a phenomenon, both in terms of the commercial appeal of his progeny and their success on the racecourse,” said Newgate Stud Manager Jim Carey.

“It is well documented that opportunities for breeders to access him are very limited, so a mare like this becoming available on the open market carrying a pregnancy to him is a very special offering indeed and one not to be taken for granted.”

The Godolphin draft – which includes horses by Exceed And Excel, Lonhro, Medaglia d’Oro etc - offers buyers a range of outstanding options headed by Camaguey, the Teofilo 4YO (pictured) who is already qualified for this year’s $2m The Big Dance having won the Mudgee Cup in December.

Also offered by Godolphin is Kanazawa – a three-time winner who finished 0.6 lengths behind stars on the rise Think About It and Pizarro at Randwick last weekend – and the consistent 4YO Huon, who from his nine starts has won three times and placed on five other occasions.

For more information on any of the Godolphin offerings, pleaes contact Jason Walsh on 0457 102 236 or email jwalsh@godolphin.com.

The Godolphin draft is part of a 344-strong catalogue for the February (Late) Sale which includes 212 racehorses (96 race fillies), 65 broodmares, 41 racehorse shares, 21 yearlings, three unbroken stock, one weanling and one stallion.

The catalogue is now open for bidding.

Dual Stakes winner and G3 placed mare Constant Dreaming is another standout entry.

Constant Dreaming is offered as a racing and breeding prospect and carries significant residual value, being a sister to another Stakes winner.

Morioka (Maurice) is a Stakes placed 2YO and Metro-winning 3YO from the Chris Waller stable, offered by Denise Martin’s Star Thoroughbreds.

Morioka is out of G3 winner and dual Group placed mare Koonoomoo and is offered as a breeding prospect only.

In an exciting development, three 5% shares in untapped 3YO Benedetta will also be offered.

Benedetta (Hellbent) has won three of her four career starts – by a combined margin of almost seven lengths – and is being set for the $750,000 Inglis Sprint at Flemington on March 4.

Another entry that is sure to capture significant interest is Shalatin, known within the industry as “Australia’s best Maiden’’.

The Joe Pride-trained 3YO has already won almost $300,000 in earnings, having finished third behind Sejardan in the G2 Todman Stakes and second behind Sejardan in the $1m Golden Gift as a 2YO.

Other highlights in the February (Late) catalogue include:

• Beep Test – Promising filly from the John O’Shea stable, a two-time winner and Metro placed

• Brick’n’wood – Exciting 3YO who has won his only career start by two lengths
