Newhaven Park Showcase Future Classic Stars

The $2million Inglis Millennium (1200m) last year produced a stirring battle with the cream rising to the top and a full field engaged for this year’s edition is sure to unearth some juvenile stars of the future.

The Newhaven Park raised and sold filly Xtravagant Star got the cash last year when prevailing to win over Paris Dior and Sejardan, who both came out and won feature Group II events at their next start.

A $150,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Newhaven Park draft for McEvoy Mitchell / Belmont Bloodstock, Xtravagant Star is one of four stakes-winners for her Newhaven Park based sire Xtravagant.

Newhaven Park will present a big draft of 26 yearlings at Inglis Classic including seven by Xtravagant with additional highlights below:

Lot 42 Colt Nicconi x Secret Mak, by Lonhro

By Group I sire Nicconi and is a powerhouse chestnut colt in the Nature Strip mould. Half-brother to two winners from a half-sister to Group I winner Covertly, Group III winners So Secret and Crack the Code as well as stakes-winner Secret Link. Nicconi has 75% winners to runners from mares by Lonhro.

 

Lot 209 Filly Capitalist x Yes to the Dress (USA), by Congrats

First foal of imported US juvenile stakes-winner Yes to the Dress, a half-sister to three more speedy stakes-winners including Miss Lombardi, the dam of another stakes-winning juvenile filly in Miss Bullistic. Dam is getting every opportunity at stud here and has another filly by Capitalist to follow and was covered by Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside last spring.

 

Lot 219 Colt Written Tycoon x Zorro Rapido, by Foxwedge

First foal of winning full sister to Group I  winning sprinter Volpe Veloce, stakes-winner Raposa Rapida and half-sister to stakes-winner Delago Bolt. Volpe Veloce sold for $1.9million as a broodmare in 2021 and her first foal, a yearling filly by I Am Invincible is entered for Inglis Easter.

 

Lot 406 Colt Written By x Exotic, by Mossman

From the second crop of Written By, who has already sired G3 winner The Novelist and stakes-placed Scorsese and Gangitano. Half-brother to two winners from a prolific Black Type family as dam is a half-sister to the dams of Group I winner Hasahalo, Group II winner Savvy Nature and Group III winners Addictive Nature, Hasabro, All Saints’ Eve and All Hallows’ Eve.

 

Lot 563 Filly Exceedance x Logan’s Choice, by Redoute’s Choice

From the first crop of Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Exceedance. Half-sister to Group II BRC Roses Stakes winner Vanna Girl and stakes-placed Plucky Girl from outstanding producer Logan’s Choice, who has left six winners from seven runners and comes from the family of Group I winners Naturalism and Crystal Palace.

 

Lot 619 Colt Frosted (USA) x Moonsong, by Redoute’s Choice

One of only two yearlings in the sale by dashing grey sire Frosted and is a half-brother to Group III WA Oaks winner Lunar Impact and Group I placed Man of Choice from terrific producer Moonsong, who has had four foals to race and all are winners.
