The Ciaron Maher-David Eustace trained mare won over $2 million in prizemoney during her career, with topflight victories in the G1 Memsie Stakes and G1 Robert Sangstar Stakes along with a memorable win in the $1 Million TAB Magic Millions Fillies & Mares.

The six-year-old Choisir mare presents an exciting opportunity for any broodmare band in the world, following her retirement in December as a tough and consistent on-pace galloper that performed at the top level across multiple jurisdictions.

The 2018 Gold Coast Yearling Sale graduate, is owned by a large ownership group managed by Brad Spicer of Spicer Throughbreds, who along with Darren Weir selected Snapdancer as a yearling and is thrilled at the prospect of returning to the Gold Coast with the star mare.

“She was really exciting to watch and to see what she did in her last 12 months was amazing. Whilst it’s sad that it has come to an end, hopefully she can go on and be just as successful as a broodmare.”

“Everyone was pretty keen to get her up to the Magic Millions sale. It’s always nice to get up to Queensland and a lot of the owners will travel up to see her take the final step in the journey. I think she will be well sought after when she gets to the sales ring this year.”

Co-trainer Ciaron Maher expressed similar sentiments for 'stable favourite', Snappy. "Just like her form, she showed ability early and kept improving with every preparation. She was a stable favourite and went all over the country for us.”

“She is big, strong and very genuine. The style of horse that would go forward and take luck out of it.”

Ciaron’s favourite victory with the mare was the G1 Memsie Stakes, against a star-studded field, where Snappy “went forward, controlled the race and was very, very dominant.”

Snapdancer will be prepared by Sherah Sullivan of Sullivan Bloodstock who presents their second mare consignment in 2023. Sherah’s association with Snapdancer has come full circle having worked with the mare in her formative years when managing Noorilim Park.

“Being asked to consign a mare like Snapdancer in our second year is incredibly humbling, we’re absolutely delighted and we couldn’t dream of getting a mare like her, it’s unreal.”

“She’s a lovely mare, she arrived early December and has been in the paddock letting down and of course getting spoilt rotten. She has been getting the works, is in terrific order and looks amazing.”

Snapdancer boasts two Group 1 victories to her name, over $2 million in prizemoney and was one of the fastest mares to grace the Australian turf, stopping the clock at 1:07.67 over 1200m at Randwick (0.35s outside Yes Yes Yes' track record).

Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said, “to offer Snapdancer on behalf of Brad Spicer and the ownership group is a great thrill for Magic Millions. She is a fantastic graduate of the company and will be a standout for any broodmare band. The team and I are looking forward to offering her amongst other outstanding mares in May.”
