They say you are only as good as your last winner and for Torryburn Stud that would be 2020 Inglis Classic sale-topper Voyage Bubble, who was making news last Sunday when carrying Jamie Kah to victory in the HK$12 million Hong Kong Classic Mile (1600m).

The four year-old son of Deep Field was purchased by his trainer Ricky Yiu for $380,000 and is a star on the rise with four wins and four placings from nine starts and the promise of much more to come as he contests the remaining two legs of the Four-Year-Old Classic Series.

“He was mapped to get a really nice, sweet run in the race and I was confident. I was just worried about him late as he has the tendency to lay in and I just thought something’s going to swoop him late, but he just built and built, he got stronger and stronger and probably at the 200 (metre mark) I thought we were never in doubt – it was a really impressive win going forward,” said Jamie Kah.

Torryburn Stud have achieved outstanding results in recent years with highlight horses produced and sold from the farm including dual Group I winning colt Home Affairs, now one of the hottest young sires in the country, as well as Group winners Espiona and Straight Arron, plus stakes-winner Aysar.

Multiple Group winning mare Hope in Your Heart is another to benefit from a Torryburn upbringing, the $1.1million earner having been foaled and raised on the farm for her owner breeders Alex and Deidre Illes.
