John Hickmott Dispersal Sale Open for Bidding This Thursday

Media Release - Wednesday February 1

John Hickmott, 76, moved to South Australia 30 years ago, settling in Murray Bridge. Since then, he has become a prolific trainer in the region, preparing several winners every year across the state.

John has decided to offer to the open market some of his racing stock that will be perfectly suited to Jumps racing and the Country Racing circuit.  There is a mixture of horses that have been well prepared and campaigned from consistent winners to untried horses that have had all the hard work done.

John has a lot of young horses coming through the stable and has decided to sell 24 of his horses online through Bloodstockauction.com, which will also include some broodmare prospects.

Amongst the stock on offer there is ALL HARD WOOD, winner of 7 races and $282,555 in prizemoney. He is currently in work and a very sound horse that would be an ideal jumping prospect.

TURF MAN, a massive stable favourite who has a Northern Territory Derby win under his belt and a winner of $311,350 in prizemoney.  John feels he would be a perfect jumper as he gets the distance and is very athletic and agile.

Zack's Star, bought as a New Zealand import has been given time to mature and would be perfect as a staying proposition.

Jediah, only a 4YO, has been unlucky in all his starts so far but has shown he will be a promising horse for the future with his brilliant work shown at home.

Dove Mountain is a stunning HIGH CHAPARRAL mare is also offered as part of the sale as a lovely broodmare prospect.

The Dispersal Sale is being hosted online by dispersal sale specialists, Bloodstockauction.com, with the catalogue being released online at 7:00pm AEDT on Thursday 2 February 2023, with the Final Countdown starting at 7:00pm AEDT on Tuesday 7 February 2023.
