All The King's Men Credits King's Troop with First Stakes Winner

Mark Smith - Sunday January 29

Narrowly defeated in the Listed Fairetha Stakes and Listed Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic, All The King's Men finally had a photo go his way with a last stride win over the gallant front-runner Feels Playful in the Greenfields Breeders' Classic (1400m) at Pinjarra on Sunday.

Ridden by Paul Harvey for Trevor Andrews, All The King's Men credited his sire King's Troop with his first stakes-winner. He defeated the filly Feels Playful (Playing God) by a short head with Gage Roads (Gold Standard) a length and a quarter back in third.

"We were concerned about the speed map, and I told Paul you are no hope if you go back, so we hatched a plan to be positive," Andrews said.

"He relaxed with the visors off, and I want to go to a mile or further, but he is a lovely horse bright a bright future.
