She was the second highest priced filly by I Am Invincible in 2021 and she kicked her career off “the right way” at Canberra on Friday.
The Bryce Heys trained Dancing Alone didn’t lack for competitive experience, having been to the barrier trials six times and duly started a very short priced favourite when produced at the races.
After an only average getaway she raced midfield but once Alysha Collett found clear air into the straight she proved too strong and ultimately did it comfortably.
“That was very good,” said Heys.
“They were all there to beat her. She had horses laying over her.
“She’s a winner. That’s important. She’ll take plenty of benefit from it.
“She’s got a level of ability. We were just trying to start her career off the right way.”
Collett likewise was impressed.
“She’s definitely got a lot of ability there. She’s learning still. Getting amongst the field today and running past them can only be a good thing.”
Dancing Alone was purchased by Heys’s Ellerslie Lodge at the 2021 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale from Vinery Stud and races in the colours of Michael O’Keefe and Veronica King.
She is by I Am Invincible from the stakes placed Snitzel mare Miles Of Krishan, a half-sister to the Champion NZ 2YO Il Quello Velove.
It’s the family of classy sprinters Tiger Tees, Ball Of Muscle, Terravista and Super Easy.
Miles Of Krishan has a Zoustar yearling entered in the Vinery draft at Inglis Easter as lot 421.
She foaled to I Am Invincible last year before returning to Zoustar.
