Timely Win for Gold Revolver - Half Sister at the Inglis Premier

Mark Smith - Friday January 20

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Russian Revolution gelding Gold Revolver is loving his time in Victoria, making it two wins in five days with a dominant performance in the Deane Lester Gofundme (1100m) at Flemington.

After two lacklustre performances in Sydney, Gold Revolver transferred to the Melbourne stable with immediate results.

Second in an 1100m maiden at Wangaratta on December 30, Gold Revolver opened his winning account over 1200m at Moe last Sunday.

Given a positive ride by Jordan Childs down the Flemington straight, the Blueblood Thoroughbreds colourbearer was untroubled to defeat the Written Tycoon gelding Atlantis Tycoon by one and a quarter length, with Holler colt Bahama Bay a short-neck back in third.

"There’s not much of him, he is only a little horse, but he came through well," stable representative Rebecca Shanks said.

“We love these Russian Revolutions from Newgate Farm, and it’s great to get a win for Blueblood and all involved.”

A $75,000 pinhook for BBT Breeding & Racing Pty Ltd/Sheamus Mills Bloodstock (FBAA) from the Yulong draft at the 2020 National Weanling Sale, Gold Revolver was a $125,000 purchase for his trainers from the Doran Park draft at the 2021 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Gold Revolver a $125,000 Inglis Classic yearling

Gold Revolver is the second foal of the Equiano mare Goldylux, a half-sister to Group III MRC Naturalism Stakes winner Magnapal (Magnus), and stakes-placed Red for Lou (Testa Rossa), dam of the Magic Millions 2yo Classic winner Le Chef (Exceed And Excel).

It is a timely win for Gold Revolver as Yulong consigns a half-sister by Grunt to the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale (Lot 754).

After foaling a Grunt foal in October, Goldylux was covered by Tagaloa.
