If you bought a yearling by Epaulette at the sales this year you would have to be encouraged by his growing tally of first crop European winners which rose to 19 overnight with a debut victory for Augenblick at Kempton.

EpauletteA dual Group I winning son of Commands, Epaulette went to stud first in the Northern Hemisphere for Darley.

To date in Europe he has had 19 winners from 53 runners, with stakes-placed Sankari Royale his best performer.

A three-quarter brother to triple Group I winner and proven stakes sire Helmet, Epaulette has been popular with breeders at their Kelvinside base covering 420 mares in his first three seasons.

His first Australian runner, two year-old filly Meryl, led them up in the Listed ATC Gimcrack Stakes before boxing on well to finish sixth beaten a little over two lengths.

Epaulette stands at a fee of $22,000.
