The
Warwick Farm trials on Monday featured two heats won by youngsters sired by I
Am Invincible and Smart Missile.
The fillies heat over 807 metres featured the Chris Waller trained I Am
Invincible filly Fiesta, who made her debut with a strong finishing third in
the Listed ATC Gimcrack Stakes.
While she was having an easy time to cruise into second place, the winner was
another daughter of Yarraman Park's dynamic sire.
The Peter and Paul Snowden trained Pure Elation showed good pace out of the
gates to find the lead albeit three wide and then powered to the line under
Michael Walker to win by more than two lengths.
She showed good improvement from her first trial last month, when she finished fourth
after being not asked to do a great deal.
A $320,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Paul Moroney Bloodstock from the
Swettenham Stud draft, Pure Elation runs in the yellow and white colours of Sir
Owen Glenn's Go Bloodstock.
She is the first foal of former stakes-winning Hussonet (USA) juvenile Member's
Joy, from the family of stakes-winners such as Rosa's Spur and Rosa's Joy.
It's a fast juvenile family and Pure Elation looks true to type.
The colts division was won by the Clarry Conners trained Smart Missile colt
Skyray, who hit the line hard after travelling off the pace to win by a head.
A $60,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer from the Arrowfield draft,
Skyray is from Distinctive, a daughter of champion sprinting mare Special.
