There
was only one race run at Kilmore on Monday with the meeting abandoned due to
slippery conditions, but that one winner was a Savabeel filly with a bright future.
A homebred for Waikato Stud prepared by the Hayes / Dabernig partnership, She's
Popular opened her career with an easy two and a half length win in the 112
metre maiden.
She is the first winner for winning O'Reilly mare It Girl, a full sister to
four-time Group I winner Sacred Falls, who won the Group I ATC Doncaster Handicap
not once but twice for the Chris Waller stable.
Waikato Stud sires Savabeel and O'Reilly have established a highly successful
nick running at over 68% winners to runners with 10 stakes-winners bred this
way headed by Group I winners Costume, Savaria and Diademe.
