Unsurprisingly, there is a new clubhouse leader with Widden Stud’s sister to Sunlight selling to Yulong for $2,600,000 on day 2 of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling sale.

Thirteen lots later, Tom Magnier had the final say at $1,600,000 for Cressfield Stud’s much admired I Am Invincible colt out of the Group 1 winning Hinchinbrook mare Spright.

There will be very few quiet spots on day 3, with I Am Invincible and Snitzel looking strong.

Lot No: 444 Ch F Zoustar x Sunday Chill by Flying Spur Consignor: Sledmere Stud

Half-sister to two winners out of a half-sister to Group 1 ATC Flight Stakes winner Oohood (I Am Invincible), which placed in the Golden Slipper, ATC Sires' Produce Stakes, Caulfield Guineas,  and Blue Diamond, and to stakes-placed Breakfast in Bed, the dam of Group 1 ATC Sires' Produce Stakes, and Group 1 Champagne Stakes winner King’s Legacy.

Lot No: 445 Ch C Justify (USA) x Sunlight by Zoustar Consignor: Coolmore Stud

First foal of Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes, Group 1 Newmarket Hcp, and Group 1 William Reid Stakes winner Sunlight, which was a $4,200,000 purchase for Tom Magnier at the 2020 National Broodmare Sale.

Lot No: 446 B C Snitzel x Super Cash by Written Tycoon Consignor: Arrowfield Stud

Second foal of crack racemare whose six wins included the Group II MRC Rubiton Stakes (twice), Group II Schillaci Stakes, and was runner-up in the BRC Stradbroke Hcp.

Her first foal by The Autumn Sun made $260,000 here last year.

Three-quarter brother to the Singapore champion 2yo and accomplished stallion Super One (I Am Invincible).

First foal of a very speedy mare, which placed in three Group races and was a $575,000 purchase at the 2019 National Broodmare Sale.

Lot No: 450 B C I Am Invincible x Sweet Rockette by Fastnet Rock Consignor: Yarraman Park Stud

First foal of Group III-placed daughter of Sweet Sanette (Jallad), a stakes winner in South Africa and Hong Kong.

Sweet Rockette was a $380,000 purchase at the 2020 National Broodmare Sale.

Lot No: 452 B F Exceed And Excel x Sweet Sherry by Bel Esprit Consignor: Silverdale Farm

Second foal of a Group II-winning half-sister to multiple Group II winner Arinosa and stakes-placegetters Onerous and Andaz.

Sweet Sherry’s first foal, a Snitzel filly, was the second highest-priced filly at this sale last year at $1,350,000.  She has been named Madeira and is in training with Ciaron Maher & David Eustace.

Lot No: 455 B F Pierata x Tabasco Kitten by Redoute’s Choice Consignor: Kitchwin Hills

Half-sister to three winners including the Listed stakes-winner and $530,000 earner Cuba (All Too Hard).

Dam is a daughter of the Group 1 winner La Baraka, dam of Group II winner Alizes the dam of Darley Stud’s blue hen Essaouira.

Dam is a sister to Manhattan Rain and Echoes Of Heaven, and a half-sister to Redoute's Choice, Platinum Scissors, Superior Satin and Monsoon Wedding, Taste of Heaven was one of four daughters of Shantha's Choice to bring $1million or more at the 2014 Teeley Asset Dispersal. She was purchased by James Harron Bloodstock for $1,500,000 on behalf of Hill' N' Dale Farm.

Beginning her career in the US, Taste Of Heaven is the dam of Grade III winner Heavenly Curlin (Curlin), who was a $625,000 Keeneland September purchase.

Repatriated, Taste Of Heaven was bought for $1,600,000 at the 2021 National Broodmare Sale.

Lot No: 477 Ch C Written Tycoon x The Broken Shore by Hussonet Consignor: Arrowfield Stud.

Half-brother to Shoals (Fastnet Rock), the Champion 3YO Filly in Australia in 2017-18 with wins in the Group 1 VRC Myer Classic, Group 1 ATC Surround Stakes, and Group 1 SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes, and to stakes-winner Groundswell a $2.3 million son of Fastnet Rock.

From the same family of the I Am Invincible x Taste Of Heaven colt, The Broken Shore was a $1,900,000 purchase at the Teeley Asset Dispersal.

Second foal of a winning three-quarter sister to Group III-placed Fasol, and a half-sister to Silasol (Monsun) the Joint Champion 2YO Filly in France, and winner of the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac and Group 1  Prix Saint-Alary, and placed in the French Oaks.

A half-brother to this colt by Fastnet Rock, named Moissanite, sold for $380,000 last year and is in training with Ciaron Maher & David Eustace.

Lot No: 491 Ch F The Autumn Sun x Time Check (USA) by Shamardal Consignor: Arrowfield Stud

Half-sister to the talented Willinga Beast (Snitzel), which placed in the Group II ATC Percy Sykes Stakes, Group II Furious Stakes and Group II ATC Roman Consul Stakes.

Time Check (USA) is a half-sister to stakes-placed Lascars (Sepoy), and Darley blue hen Essaouira, the dam of Alizee, Astern, Tassort, and Mogador.

First foal of an unraced half-sister to stakes-placed Dajraan (Frankel).

Dam is a daughter of Golden Slipper winner Mossfun, whose I Am Invincible colt topped the first day when knocked down to Hawkes Racing for $1650,000.

First foal of crack racemare whose nine wins included the Group 1 MVRC AJ Moir Stakes, and Group 1 WATC Winterbottom Stakes.

A $40,000 yearling, Viddora was bought by Yulong for $2,550,000 at the 2020 National Broodmare Sale.

Three-quarter brother to stakes-placed Quattro Katie (Zoustar), and a half-brother to the smart 3yo filly Stroll (Snitzel), winner of the Listed BRC Bill Carter Stakes and Listed Mode Stakes.

Dam is a half-sister to stakes-placed Sebrakate (Sebring) out of the dual Listed stakes-winner Kakakakatie (Zeditave).

Three-quarter-sister to dual Group II winner and $1.2m earner Splintex.

A $750,000 purchase at the 2018 Inglis Chairmans Sale, Acqume had a Lope de Vega colt sell here last year for $700,000.

First foal of a stakes-placed sister to Golden Slipper winner Estijaab (Snitzel), and stakes-placed Remarque (Snitzel).

A $1,050,000 yearling, Alter Call won twice in five starts. Sadly she died in August and this is her only foal.

Lot No: 610 B C Fastnet Rock x Anchovy (IRE) by Galileo Consignor: Cambridge Stud.

Bred on a highly successful cross, this colt is the second foal of a three-quarter sister to the Group 1 Epsom Derby hero Ruler Of The World and Group III winner Norway, which placed in the Group 1 Irish Derby.

From the family of 4-time Group 1 winner Duke Of Marmalade.

Lot No: 618 B C Snitzel x Apologynotaccepted (USA) by Fusaichi Pegasus Consignor: Musk Creek Farm

Dam is a a four-time winner in the US and runner-up in the Grade II Fleur de Lis Hcp at Churchill Downs. She is a half-sister to dual Grade II winner Curlin's Approval.

A Written Tycoon colt out of Apologynotaccepted (USA) sold for $500,000 here last year and is in training with Anthony and Sam Freedman.

Dam is a sister to Group III-placed Diamond Oasis and a half-sister to Listed winners Oasis Girl (Redoute’s Choice) and Siwa Lady (Gonski).

Arabian Diamond had a The Autumn Sun filly sell for $200,000 at the Inglis Premier last year. Named Sontay, she is in training with Michell Freedman.

Third foal of a winning three-quarter sister to the dam of Group II ATC Arrowfield 3YO Sprint winner Derryn (Hinchinbrook), and a half-sister to stakes-winner and proven producer Regrowth, and to the dan of Forensics (Flying Spur) whose seven wins include the Group 1 Golden Slipper, Group 1 VRC Myer Classic, and Group 1 STC Queen of the Turf Stakes.

Artemis Rose had a brother to this colt sell for $550,000 in 2021, and last year had a colt by The Autumn Sun sell for $375,000.

Half-sister to eight winners, including the Listed stakes-winner All Too Royal (All Too Hard).

Dam won the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes and was runner-up in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud stakes. She is a sister to the dam of dual Group III winner Sylvia’s Mother.
