Calling All Bloodstock Historians – Has This Happened Before?

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 3

With Magic Millions due to start on Tuesday week we’ve noticed something interesting about the first season sires represented this year with three of the best having been raised and sold by Hunter Valley nursery Kitchwin Hills.

Producing sire prospects of the future is where bloodstock investment becomes big business and Yes Yes Yes, Pierata and Dubious all carry the KWH brand and were all purchased out of the Gold Coast sale ring.

Yes Yes Yes

Yes Yes Yes was a $200,000 purchase in 2018 and retired to Coolmore with earnings of $7.1million.

Pierata

Pierata was a $160,000 purchase in 2016 and retired to Aquis with earnings of $5.8million.

Dubious was a $350,000 purchase in 2018 and retired to Aquis with earnings of $1.2million.

This may or may not be a unique achievement, so we’re keen for feedback and if any of our bloodstock agents, auction house staff and studmasters with long memories can recall anything similar, please email us at media@breednet.com.au

Kitchwin Hills will offer yearlings by all three sires – Yes Yes Yes, Pierata and Dubious - in their draft of 28 this year.
