Media Release - Friday December 9

The Tattersalls Online December Sale has attracted a diverse catalogue of 74 entries for the final online auction of 2022 to be held on the platform. The sale includes a collection of Breeding Rights, broodmares, yearlings, a single foal and a stallion share in Group 1 producing sire ALMANZOR. The catalogue also features 40 horses in and out of training, as well as mares in foal to popular stallions including HAVANA GREY and ARDAD

A feature highlight of the catalogue is a Breeding Right to Whitsbury Manor Stud’s brilliant young sire HAVANA GREY. A stallion in high demand, HAVANA GREY is the sire of thirteen Group/Listed performers in his first crop with the Group winners RUMSTAR, EDDIE’S BOY and LADY HOLLYWOOD amongst his 43 individual winners. Breeding Rights are also offered in exciting young stallions CRACKSMAN, PROFITABLE, TERRITORIES, and the now French-based RIBCHESTER who will form part of the Darley roster at Haras du Logis in 2023.

A stallion share in Champion three-year-old ALMANZOR provides another attractive opportunity for breeders. Standing at Haras d’Etreham in France, the sire enjoyed a successful season highlighted by MANZOICE winning the Group 1 Victoria Derby and boasts thirteen Group/Listed performers to date. He will stand for a fee of €25,000 in 2023.

An exciting wildcard addition to the sale is the young broodmare SOPHIE, a half-sister to this year’s 1000 Guineas winner CACHET. The daughter of FARHH is offered in foal to ACLAIM carrying a three-quarter sibling to the Classic winner. Other attractive filly and mare offerings include CASUARINA, an own-sister to recent Group 1 Caulfield Cup winner DURSTON offered in foal to STUDY OF MAN, Group 2 winner INFAMOUS ANGEL offered in foal to Classic producing sire ACLAIM, and the well-bred filly IT’S SNOWING who is out of a half-sister to six-time Group 1 winner SNOW FAIRY. Breeding prospects by GALILEO, KINGMAN, DARK ANGEL, and WAR FRONT are also catalogued as well as mares by leading broodmares sires TEOFILO and OASIS DREAM.

French trainer Jérôme Reynier, who sold highly-rated Listed performer ROYAL ROBBINS for 105,000 guineas to Australian interests in the Tattersalls Online November Sale, presents Group 3 winner NATIONAL SERVICE. The five-year-old son of ELUSIVE CITY has earned just over €100,000 in prizemoney and is qualified for French Premiums.
