Second Stakes-Winner for Harry Angel

Tara Madgwick - Friday October 28

Currently in the Hunter Valley for Darley, champion sprinter Harry Angel (IRE) posted his first stakes-winner last weekend with Arkansaw Kid winning the $500,000 Inglis Banner and has wasted no time getting his second with Proverb taking out the Listed Criterium de Vitesse (1000m) at Longchamp overnight.

Trained by George Boughey for Highclere Racing, Proverb has had a productive juvenile season with two wins and two placings at his previous four starts before tackling this Black Type assignment.

Proverb was tenacious to the line in scoring a neck win and has now three of five starts.

Proverb made €11,000 as a yearling at Goffs and then €32,000 at the Arqana Breeze Up Sale earlier this year.

He is the first winner for Posh Perfect, a winning Showcasing mare from the family of Group I winning sprinter Pipalong.

The only son of Dark Angel at stud in Australia, Harry Angel stands at a fee of $16,500.
