Get Ready for Some More Drama!

Media Release - Thursday September 29

Victoria’s Larneuk Stud was over the moon about securing multiple Group 2 winning sprinter, Endless Drama, for stud duties last spring.

After all, what’s not to like? He’s a magnificent type, was a super racehorse and he’s by one of the hottest stallions on the planet in Lope de Vega, who just happens to have a proven track record down under. Oh yeah, one other thing: Endless Drama’s first foals are gorgeous.

Just look at those babies … if they don’t run we’ll give you your money back (only kidding, we’ve got everything you need at Larneuk except for an oil well next to the stallion barn!).

Seriously though, we’re really struck by how much he’s throwing them to type and, in turn, Lope de Vega … especially that chestnut hunk below, a lovely filly from Brightly Goes.

Remember, Endless Drama was a winner at 2, ran 2nd in the Group 1 Irish Guineas at 3, Group 1 placed in England at 4 and, after arriving in Australia, ran 3rd to Winx or the Group 2 Apollo, won the Apollo the following year, won 2 Group 2s across the Tasman and finished 3rd to Trekking in the Group 1 Stradbroke.

That’s some campaigner alright and well worthy of second, third and tenth looks: on race record alone.

But now throw Lope de Vega into the mix and you really have an all round package. The sire of Australian Group 1 winners Gytrash, Santa Ana Lane, Vega Magic and Vega One after a relatively short stint down under, Lope de Vega’s blown them away in the northern hemisphere with over 100 stakes winners and another 70 stakes horses. And it’s not like he’s living on past glory either: since the start of 2022 alone Lope de Vega has produced 24 stakes winners including three Group 1 winners!

Even his northern hemisphere bred runners, Surf Dancer (Group 2 Shannon) and Arapaho (Premier’s Cup) have won Group races in Australia this year, while locally-bred Group winners Le Lude and Monegal are both 7 and hail from his final Aussie crop. They run early, they train on.

Surprisingly, given his impact in this neck of the woods, there are only two Lope de Vega stallions sons listed on the Stud Book and only one of them stands at $8,800 inc. GST … Endless Drama.

So, add a little Drama to your lives … the possibilities are Endless!
