$600,000 Brilliant Bisc Tops Turangga Farm Dispersal

Media Release - Sunday July 23

Stuart Ramsey "couldn't be happier'' with today's Turangga Farm Unreserved Dispersal of In-Foal Mares Sale at White Park.

Brilliant BiscBrilliant Bisc (Elvstroem x Stella Cadente), in foal to Exosphere, made $600,000 as the sale-topper, selling to Geoff Roan on behalf of Sir Owen Glenn.

She will be served by Newgate's Capitalist next season, which is hardly surprising given her yearling colt by his sire Written Tycoon sold for $1million at Inglis Easter earlier this year.

The $600,000 price tag also set a new Scone record.

Today's sale grossed $4,171,500 from 87 Lots sold, averaging $47,948.

Other leading Lots included broodmares Private (Encosta de Lago x Good Faith) in foal to Vancouver selling to James Bester Bloodstock for $360,000 , Clover Lane (O'Reilly x Sequential Charm) also in foal to Vancouver reaching $220,000 for Robertson Equine Investments and Tenant's Tiara (Beautiful Crown x Maintenant) in foal to More Than Ready selling to Hollymount for $205,000.

The top-priced weanling was a Your Song x Space Odyssey filly (Lot 23) for James Bester Bloodstock at $125,000.

Ramsey was thrilled with the success of the sale.

"We achieved what we set out to achieve and I'm really happy with the sale, really happy with it. It's grossed well,'' Ramsey said.

"This is something we've done all our lives, I'm an agent by trade so it's been great.''

Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster was grateful to have the opportunity to host the Sale for the Ramsey's.

"I'd like to thank Stuart for letting Inglis manage this sale, and also to congratulate him and his family on the wonderful influence they have had on the breeding industry over a long period of time.''
