Randwick Official 2YO Trials Sale Mail

Breednet - Friday September 16

63 youngsters have been entered for the official two-year-old barrier trials at Randwick next Monday including two million-dollar yearlings, seven by first season sires, the half-brother to the Golden Slipper winner and the two sale toppers from Inglis Classic.

Heat three sees both the million-dollar yearlings:

Godfather (I Am Invincible x Meliora) which made $1.1million from the Yarraman Park draft at Magic Millions Gold Coast, and Mach Ten (Exceed And Excel x Devious Rumour) which made $1.2million from the Fernrigg Farm draft, also at Magic Millions Gold Coast, both to the bid of James Harron Bloodstock’s Colts Partnership.

They include the highest priced Harry Angel from this year’s yearling sales, Monte Braveheart as well as the second highest priced by Written By (Maktabi – heat 10), and third highest priced by Justify (Learning to Fly – Heat 4) and Trapeze Artist (Snatchreilly – Heat 7).

Heat three sees the appearance of Kintyre, a half-brother to last season’s Champion two-year-old Fireburn, raced by a group of owners including his breeder Laurel Oak Bloodstock and trained by Gary Portelli.

Interestingly three youngsters, or ten percent of the 2020 crop of 31, by the fertility challenged gun stallion Extreme Choice are entered and include the two top priced lots from this year’s Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Make A Call (Extreme Choice x To Dubawi Go) topped that sale to the bid of China Horse Club, Newgate Farm and Trilogy Bloodstock at $825,000 from Mane Lodge while Gun (Extreme Choice x Murtle Turtle) was the second highest priced lot at $775,000 to the James Harron Colts Partnership from Bell River Thoroughbreds.
