Inglis Snap Up Their Everest Runner

Breednet - Thursday September 15

Snapdancer is the sixth confirmed runner for the 2022 The Everest with Inglis announcing the mare will take their slot in the $15 million event.

A six-year-old mare by Choisir out of the Galileo mare, Snapdragon, Snapdancer showed she’d returned for her spring campaign in brilliant form with a first-up win in the Group One Memsie Stakes last month.

Snapdancer wins the Gr.1 Memsie Stakes.

Her last three starts have now seen a Group One win in the Robert Sangster Stakes, Group One second in the Tattersall’s Tiara as well as the Memsie win.

A $60,000 weanling purchase for Sheamus Mills Bloodstock from Coolmore Stud at the 2017 Inglis Chairman’s Sale, she was on sold as a yearling to Spicer Thoroughbreds and Darren Weir Racing for $180,000 in the Sledmere Stud draft at the Magic Million Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

“I’m excited to announce the Inglis runner for the 2022 renewal of the Everest is a daughter of a great Inglis graduate in Choisir. Raised on a fantastic farm at Coolmore. Trained by Australia’s leading training partnership in Ciaron Maher and David Eustace and raced by a partnership that includes great friends of Inglis,” said Inglis CEO Sebastian Hutch.

“Snapdancer joins Mazu, Nature Strip, Lost And Running and Masked Crusader as confirmed Inglis graduates for the 2022 running of The Everest.”

“For years we’ve sat back and watched the phenomenon that is The Everest, so for Snapdancer to be our first runner is a great achievement for the team,” said co-trainer Ciaron Maher.

Snapdancer becomes the sixth officially confirmed runner in The Everest along with Lost And Running (TAB), Eduardo (Yulong Investments), Mazu (The Star and Arrowfield), Nature Strip (Chris Waller Racing) and Masked Crusader (Max Whitby and Neil Werrett).

Classique Legend is expected to take his owner Bon Ho’s slot while Godolphin, Coolmore, James Harron Bloodstock, James Kennedy and Aquis are yet to announce their runners for the race on October 15.
