The first of the Mike de Kock trained pair to win was Written Tycoon filly Awaafy, who improved from her debut fourth to win this 1200 metre fillies and mares maiden by more than a length as favourite.
A $125,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Amarina Farm draft for Shadwell, Awaafy is a full sister to brilliant Group II winning sprinter Howmuchdoyouloveme and is the fourth winner from Betula Belle.
Interestingly, Awaafy was the least expensive of 19 yearlings bought by Shadwell at this sale.
The second winner, two year-old Medaglia D'Oro (USA) colt Marmook carried the yellow and blue colours of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.
He was also having his second start and took the 1000 metre maiden by a length and a half as favourite.
A $160,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum from the Corumbene Stud draft, Marmook is the third winner from Dehere (USA) mare Emissary, a daughter of Group I winner Heart Ruler from the family of this season's dual Oaks winner Egg Tart.
Prepared by Frank Robinson, two year-old colt Roy Had Enough had been place three of his four previous runs before a last start win over 1900 metres at Greyville as favourite.
He repeated that performance to win again overt the same trip by a long head.
Roy Had Enough was a $95,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Element Hill draft for World Wide Bloodstock and is the first winner for Queens Plaza, an unraced daughter of dual Group I winner and Australian Oaks queen Danendri.
