Yulong based Written Tycoon is a stallion that has really hit his straps in later life having spent years doing the hard yards at various locations before emerging as a runaway commercial success.

The first year he moved out of the bargain basement was in 2016 when he stood for $49,500 and those resulting foals born in 2017 are now five year-olds.

In following years his fee continued to rise and we are now seeing the benefit of those big books of quality mares reflected in his racetrack results.

Written Tycoon was Australia’s Champion Sire in 2020/2021 siring 193 winners (12 SW’s) of $17million, then last season he sired 178 winners (13 SW’s) of $14.4million.

This season we should see more of the same and he is already on his way with exciting colts Crosswinds and Maximillius to fly the flag for him this weekend when resuming in the Group III MRC McNeil Stakes.

Written Tycoon stands at Yulong Stud in Victoria this spring at a fee of $165,000.
