The release of entries for the Group I Caulfield Guineas and Thousand Guineas has added plenty of interest to competitive maiden events which are often the first stepping off point for potential contenders, so let’s take a look at the runners today that hold entries.

The Gai Waterhouse and Arian Bott trained Zoustar colt Scientist has been burning up the track in recent barrier trials so much will be expected of him on debut. A $600,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Coolmore draft, he is the first foal from dual Group I winning filly Global Glamour, who won both the ATC Flight Stakes and MRC Thousand Guineas.
Champion trainer Chris Waller won a couple of Group I races with top class filly Hungry Heart and her half-sister by Snitzel, Beautiful Heart, will be looking too improve on her debut second at the same track earlier this month.
