as ridden by Blaike McDougall, who was well pleased with Kasparov and believes better things are in store.

"Credit to the horse, he made my job easy today. It's only a Pakenham maiden, but he's got all the right attributes,” said McDougall.

“Raw ability got him through today. I think in time he’ll get seven furlongs and in time maybe further, which will open a few more doors for him.”

Passed in and retained to race by Fernrigg Farm, Kasparov is the second winner for US stakes-winner Capar Girl (USA), whose two year-old filly by Exceed and Excel was sold at Magic Millions this year by Fernrigg Farm to Annabel Neasham Racing / Lizzie Jelfs Bloodstockfor $220,000.

Trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou, promising gelding Mayhem had the benefit of a couple of recent trials and handled the heavy 10 track at Goulburn to win the 1300m maiden by a length and a half.

Mayhem was bred and sold by Torryburn Stud.

A $120,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Mitchell Bloodstock (FBAA) / G1 Goldmine from the Torryburn Stud draft, Mayhem was bred by Torryburn and is the first winner from winning Street Cry (IRE) mare Progressive, a half-sister to the dam of stakes-winner Promotions from the Twyla branch of the Dancing Show family.
