Tight at the top of the latest Caulfield Cup betting

Brad Waters - Monday October 2

A close contest has developed for Caulfield Cup favouritism after Bonneval's win in Sunday's Group I Underwood Stakes (1800m).

Bonneval won the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes at Moonee Valley first-up before proving too strong for Hartnell and Gailo Chop in the Underwood Stakes.

Bonneval's Underwood Stakes win convinced Sportsbet and CrownBet to install her as the Caulfield Cup favourite at $5.50 ahead of the Makybe Diva Stakes winner Humidor at $6.

Unibet still has Humidor as a $5 favourite ahead of Bonneval at $5.50 while Ladbrokes and Bet365 have the pair as equal favourites at $5.50 and $6 respectively.

Naturalism Stakes winner Harlem is prominent in Caulfield Cup betting at quotes between $8 and $10 while bookies have Hartnell at either $9 or $10.

Melbourne Cup winner Almandin is as short as $8 in Caulfield Cup markets.
