From last to first and now headed straight into Group company, the latest debut winner for Triple Crown hero Justify might well be something special.
Australian racegoers won’t have long to wait now until we see the first of the Aussie bred Justify two year-olds and if they come to hand as quickly as their Northern Hemisphere counterparts there will be plenty of owners out there dreaming about driving home in a red Ferrari!
Trained by John Shirreffs for C R K Stable, Justique settled at the tail of the field for the 5 ½ f juvenile maiden on the dirt.
She surged around the field and skipped clear down the running with a minimum of urging, coasting clear to win by three lengths earning TDN Rising Star status.
Co-bred by John Gunther, who also bred her sire Justify, Justique was a $725,000 Keeneland September Yearling Sale purchase and is a half-sister to Group I winner Mo Town being the third winner from Grazie Mille, a winning half-sister by Bernardini to stakes-winner Venetian Mask and Jaguar Paw.
She is the sixth winner for Justify from 15 starters with seven more of his offspring being placed.
The Triple Crown winning son of Scat Daddy already has two Group winning fillies in Statuette and Just Cindy with Justique looming as a likely third candidate.
Not returning to Coolmore Australia this spring, Justify yearlings sold here this year for up to $1million and he has 38 entries for the Golden Slipper.
