Trapeze Artist – Mare Book 2021

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday July 26

Getting mares to a young stallion in their first and second season is relatively easy, but through season three and four the task gets a lot trickier and Widden Stud’s announcement earlier this week of a $2million bonus that spreads across the first four foal crops of Trapeze Artist is one geared to keep him front and centre with broodmare owners this spring.

Click here to read about the bonus which offers $500,000 to the owners of the first Group I winning 2YO from each of the first four crops sired by Trapeze Artist, who has more 2023 Golden Slipper entries than any other first season sire.

The Champion 3YO sprinter of his generation and a four time Group I winner, Trapeze Artist was bred and retained to race by Bert Vieira, who still owns the horse and has backed his judgement in supporting the son of champion sire Snitzel with a bevy of quality mares.

Trapeze Artist, click for more information.

He’s not the only breeder getting behind Trapeze Artist, so we thought a look at his mare book last year would hold some insight.

Trapeze Artist covered 133 mares last spring in his third season and stands at a fee of $55,000 this year.
